Macbeth in dance

At the beginning of December, just before the snow but not before Jack Frost had danced his glittering light all through the forest, a small group of creatives, including myself, headed into the local ‘Christmas Tree Forest’ to film an exciting project called ‘Tomorrow…’.

In 2020 and inspired by the forest itself, Mary Davis delivered a Macbeth workshop for actors. Two years later, and in collaboration with some of the actors involved in the original workshop, this initial seed of an idea has developed into a screen dance of its own.

‘Tomorrow…’ is a movement response to text and considers the threshold between internal and external worlds, between reality and imagination.’ - Mary Davis

I have yet to see the final product but from my day photographing with them in the forest, I just know it is going to be amazing. It was fascinating being behind the scenes as they were sharing ideas and breathing life into the movement as it was filmed. I loved every moment and cannot wait to see the final film once it is complete. Here is a collection of some of the images I took of the film being made.

‘Tomorrow…’ was filmed at Studio Wayne McGregor, Stratford, and on location in Essex.
