Seasons of Motherhood - Double Digits

This month you moved into the exciting world of double digits. No longer little but still not big. In a world of in-betweens, seemingly wise yet still so innocent and naïve. Some days I feel like my hold on you is slipping, and other days our bond is a strong as ever. Your little brother feels it too. A number he can’t comprehend ever reaching, you always being those many steps ahead of him. He is sad for the slip but excited for you, maybe more so than even you. A milestone in your years, the exciting world of double digits.

Welcome to Artifact Motherhood. This is a collaboration of artists from around the world who have come together to share our stories of the joys and struggles of our journey. Through our writings and visual records we want to create memories that are more than photographs with dates written on the back. These are the artifacts we are leaving behind for our children and for generations to come.

This entry is from a series called “Seasons of Motherhood” and is meant to be one picture and one caption that represents our current journey/season of motherhood.
